Also born elsewhere but raised in Houston are Krista Allen and Gale Storm both born on the 5th. Krista Allen is an actress noted for her TV roles on Days of Our Lives and Baywatch as well as for her movies including Liar Liar, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, Anger Management and Final Destination. Gale Storm born Josephine Owaissa Cottle was famous for her acting and singing roles in the 1950’s television series Little Margie and The Gale Storm Show.
Amelia Marshall was born April 2nd in Georgia but we consider her a famous Houstonian because she was raised here in Houston. She is an actress who started her claim to fame in the soap Guiding Light. She has also played a role on All My Children and most recently, Passions. In addition to her distinguished acting career as a soap actress this famous Houstonian can be seen in Stuart Little 2, The District and Lizzie McGuire.
April Fool’s Day may be the birth date of the talented Annette O’Toole but her life and career are certainly no joke. Born and raised in Houston, she is best known for her acting but also won an Academy Award for Best Song for writing a duet with her husband Michael McKean that was featured in the movie A Mighty Wind. Her most recent noted role was as Clark Kent’s mother in Smallville but since starting her acting career at age 13, her roles have been many and varied. They include Cat People, Superman III and The Kennedys of Massachusetts.
Also celebrating a birthday on the 25th is Lee Pace. While he was not actually born in Houston, he did move here and was raised here so we will count him as one of our own especially since he acted regularly at the Alley Theater. His career spans theater, film and television. He is most famous for his portrayal of Ned in the ABC hit show Pushing Daisies. He has been nominated for a Golden Globe Award, Independent Spirit Award, Satellite Award and Emmy.
Sean Faris will turn 28 this year on the 25th. This actor has a film career spanning ten years and including performances in Pearl Harbor, Yours, Mone and Ours and Amsterdam. He also appears in numerous television shows including Smallville, One Tree Hill, Boston Public, Life as we Know it and the Vampire Diaries. He won an MTV Movie Award for Best Fight and a Young Hollywood Award.
While a young actor, he has certainly made his mark and will continue to do so. Houston is happy to have this talented young artist among the ranks.
Also on the 24th is Jim Parsons’ birthday who will turn 37. This famous Houstonian is an actor who has been involved in several film projects from 2003 and on. But he is most well known for his television shows including a recurring role in Judging Amy. For his role in The Big Bang Theory he was nominated for an Emmy in 2009 for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.

It’s hard to believe but the Undertaker turns 45 this year on the 24th. His real name is Mark Callaway and he was born and raised in Houston. This WWE superstar is known by generations. I remember watching him as a child and my boys grew up loving (and hating) him. His wrestling career is one of the best in the business, regularly holding title belts and being a huge draw for wrestling fans everywhere. His persona of the Undertaker is one of the most easily recognized and he is famous for his grand entrances and special effects.
At Wrestlemania he is undefeated with 17 wins under his belt.
Natalie Zea turns 35 this year on the 17th, St. Patrick’s Day. This famous Houstonian is an actress who first became widely known when she became part of the cast of the soap opera, Passions. She has appeared in numerous other television shows and had recurring roles in The Shield and Hung. She has also appeared in film, recently filming The Other Guys.
Happy birthday to this famous Houstonian.
Along with Lil Flip, another rapper turning 29 this year is Paul Slayton though you may know him as either The People’s Champ or Paul Wall. His birthday is on the 11th. He started out rapping in Houston along with Chamillionaire. In 2006 he won Ozone Awards for Taste Maker, Best Rap/R&B Collaborationand Best Rap Collaboration. In 2007 he was nominated for a Grammy Nominated for Best Rap Performance as a Duo or Group for “Grillz” by Nelly featuring Paul Wall, Ali & Gipp.
